Ceramic and atlas-weaving masterclasses, the Khudayar Khan Palace, and Rishtan-style pilaf. A living encounter with Uzbekistan’s crafts.
You relax – we take care of everything! :)
Your journey begins with a drive to Kokand, where you will visit the Khudayar Khan Palace. Explore this 19th-century architectural masterpiece, once the residence of the last ruler of the Kokand Khanate.
Next is Rishtan, a town famous for its unique ceramics. Visit a local workshop and learn about the ancient pottery art, distinguished by its bright turquoise glaze and natural dyes. Try your hand at making your own ceramic piece – a memorable souvenir from your trip.
Then, savour traditional Rishtan-style pilaf, a fragrant dish that is a cornerstone of Uzbek cuisine. After lunch, you will head to Margilan, a city renowned for its silk production. Visit a silk factory to see the laborious process of creating Margilan satin (atlas), a traditional Uzbek silk fabric with vibrant ikat patterns.
Spend the morning exploring Margilan, visiting local bazaars and soaking up the lively atmosphere. Before returning to Tashkent, you will enjoy a traditional Uzbek breakfast.
