5-day tour: Tashkent – Khiva – Bukhara – Samarkand
Your journey begins in Tashkent – the modern capital of Uzbekistan with a rich history. You will stroll through the Old City, visit the Hazrati Imam complex, home to the 7th-century Quran of Caliph Uthman, explore the famous Chorsu Bazaar, and see the city’s main squares.
Next stop – Khiva, the pearl of ancient Khorezm and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This open-air museum city preserves the thousand-year history of the Great Silk Road. You will see the Kunya-Ark fortress, Tash-Hovli Palace, the majestic Kalta and Islam Khodja minarets, the multi-columned Juma Mosque, and the Pakhlavan Mahmud complex.
From Khiva, the route takes you to Bukhara – a city where time seems to have stood still. The 16th-century Kukeldash and Mir-i-Arab madrasas, the cozy Lyab-i-Hauz ensemble, the ancient Ark Fortress, and the elegant 10th-century Samanid Mausoleum create an unforgettable immersion into medieval architecture. The evening is crowned with dinner and a folklore show.
The final city on the route is Samarkand, where you will discover the Mausoleum of Saint Daniel, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and the grand Registan Square with its three madrasas – Ulugbek, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori – as well as the 15th-century Bibi-Khanym Mosque.
